Flower Gardens

Lupines grew beautifully this year in all shades of purple--with one pink.  Then, we had horrible rainstorms and the lupins were smashed to the ground.  I still have seeds progressing on the heads, and look forward to trading them.  I have been harvesting the seeds, ad have plenty to swap!

I will be collecting seeds from this dianthus this weekend.

This Centauria americana grew on its own in my field.
The second photo shows these flowers growing amidst wild yarrow.

Winter Post: My special focus in flowers for the 2006 season is vines.  I have started many indoors already: Love in a Puff, Cup 'n' Saucer, Hyacinth Bean, Passion Vine, Cypress (Hummingbird) Vine.  Sprouts of Eryngium (Sea Holly) are up--this is my first time growing those and many of the vines too.  I will be growing over a dozen Morning Glory types this year as well. Some Salvia has just sprouted--we enjoyed the hummingbirds so much last year that I will grow lots of this!
