| RoBoston.com IS CHANGING RoBoston.com website
is changing. The focus of the web site and FOAIA newsletter is
continuing to be the Romanian
community in the New England area, especially in the Boston area where
most of the Romanian-Americans in our region live. The mission is
to promote
the Romanian community among the variety of other immigrant communities
in New England, advertise and promote businesses owned by
Romanian-Americans in our area and last but not the least to create a
network for jobs and other useful information. Although small,
the Romanian community is very
diverse and rather different than similar communities throughout USA
and Canada. The Boston area is home to many Romanian students at
schools such as MIT, Harvard, Boston University, Boston College,
Wellesley College, Northeastern University, Brown, University of New
Hampshire, Brandeis University and many others. Please note that
the web site is under construction and it will be operational in the
near future. Meanwhile, the FOAIA newsletter will keep you
informed with what's happening in the community. If you want to
advertise an event or publish any other information please contact the
editor at roboston@RoBoston.com

| "JAZZ MADE IN ROMANIA" AVAILABLE ONLINE A few years ago,
Johnny Raducanu and Teodora Enache toured US with a wonderful jazz
show. Their concert in Boston was just before the winter holiday
season. While in San Francisco, a few enthusiast people
made a short movie about Johnny and Teodora called "Jazz Made in
Romania" . The movie is now showing at Cinequest Online digital
theater (http://www.cinequestonline.org)
. Please take 20 minutes to download and view the movie which is
very interesting. The direct path to the movie is
http://www.cinequestonline.org/2005/theater/detail_view.php?m=507 . Please note that registration is required (it takes 5 sec to register and it's free). Also high speed Internet connection is a must since the short feature is about 36Mb to download. The movie is produced by Laura Toma, Horia Toma, Ludwig Galambos and directed by Nicolas Erdei. For those who are not familiar with Johnny Raducanu, he is most likely the most famous Romanian jazz player. He started his career playing the bass and eventually become a virtuoso piano player and composer. Teodora Enache is a new comer to the Romanian jazz singing arena. |
