| CAN YOU HELP ? The Romanian Orthodox
church of Shrewsbury is looking for volunteers for this Saturday event
of Spirit of Shrewsbury. They need help for the breakdown and
storage of church materials for Spirit of Shrewsbury (take down tent,
grill, etc. and store back at Church). When: Saturday, October 2
from 3pm to 5pm (or earlier depending on the number of volunteers).
Where: Start on Shrewsbury Common; End at Church. For more
information or if you can help please contact Jim
Christo at 508-793-9676 or email frnick@stnicholaschurch.org
. Specifically, the
church needs 4-6 people to breakdown and re-store the materials from
the event. Tent experience would be helpful. They already have a very
capable team of folks for the 7am-9am setup and a team to assist
at the conclusion of the event is needed. If you would like to
know more about this orthodox church please visit their web site at http://www.stnicholaschurch.org/.

| RUMORS ABOUT THE UPCOMING PRESIDENTIAL VOTING A few Romanian news
sources reported about a potential legislation that would require
Romanians abroad to vote only at local embassies rather than organizing
voting sections in major cities, like in the past. As of
the last week of September, there are no new instructions. In
other words, there is nothing official about the upcoming
elections. Stay tuned.

| ROMANIAN AEROSPACE PROGRAM We all know about
NASA, European space program, Chinese space program but not too much
about the Romanian similar program. Well ... it exists. The
Romanian scientists work hard at a program called "Orizont" [Horizon]
that proposes to launch in space three astronauts in 2005. The
first phases of the program went well by launching the first
sub-orbital rocket. The rocket is built in Romania and uses an
"ecologic" engine that can be recycled. Th engine is based on water
under high pressure and saturated with
oxygen. The members of the development team declare that this
engine is a premiere in the field of rocket propulsion.

| ODD LIBRARY OPENING If you happen to be
interested in communist literature a new and only library in Romania
about this subject opened in Timisoara [of all places]. Timisoara
is considered the cradle of the 1989 revolution that replaced the
dictatorial communist regime. The founder of this library, Mr.
Traian Orban, is also the head of an anti-communist organization "The Memorial of Revolution
Association." The library gathered about 100 books. Among
these books one can find the Romanian Socialist Republic constitution,
former dictator Ceasescu's speeches, video shows organized on
Ceasescu's birthdays and other idiotic paraphernalia related to this
time of horror. The curators say that some of these books have a
significant monetary value. For instance, "Omagiu" [to Ceasescu],
1975 edition, is valued at
about $3,200 . However, other specialists in this area value the book
at about $3. The ultimate judge is .... eBay.
