The Mattaponi Sundowners is a SASS affiliated Posse that shoots at the West Point Gun Club in West Point, VA on the 3^rd Sunday  and/or the 4th Saturday each month(see schedule below).  For Sunday shoots, registration starts at 11:00, shooter’s meeting at noon, start shooting at 12:30.  For Saturday shoots, registration starts at 8:30, shooter's meeting at 9:30, start shooting at 10:00.

 New shooters must observe one match prior to shooting with the Mattaponi Sundowners unless they can show that they have shot with another CAS club.  Spectators are welcome anytime; eye protection is mandatory; hearing protection is strongly recommended.

Directions;

From Virginia Beach: Take I-64 west to the first West Point exit (227) this is Rt.30.

Follow 30 to 33 (about 5 miles)  Take a right at the light onto Rt. 33.

From Richmond: Take I-64 east to exit 220, this is Rt. 33.

Follow 33 through West Point; you will cross a bridge going into West point and one on the other side leaving West Point.

Once you cross the second bridge, stay in the left lane.  About 3 miles past the bridge is Rt. 14.  You will see Shacklefords post office on your left (look for the American Flag)  turn left onto Rt.14 West.

Immediately after turning onto 14 you will see a church.  Turn right before the church onto Rt. 678, Centerville Road.

Watch to your left; a few hundred feet past the church is the entrance to the West Point Gun Club range.  There is a sign at the entrance.
