Three uses of music are often experienced at Whitcomb's: background, dancing, and singing. Each is useful in its own way, regarding listening.

But small children can make their own sounds (whether you ask them to or not), and they here have the tools to make their own creative sounds.

Simple electronic keyboards delight toddlers and pre-
schoolers. They love experi-
menting with the sounds.

But as toddlers grow older they can choose to make real music. In fact, one
care provider, Jonathan Whitcomb, helps his wife, Gladys, by giving children short piano lessons in the living room, where the younger children can see how music is learned.
