ACID/ALKALINE FOODS

 

 

The typical American diet is loaded with acid producing foods and is very deficient in alkaline producing foods causing an excess buildup of acids at the cellular level.

 

This overly  acidic environment creates conditions which contribute to all chronic degenerative conditions such as  heart and circulation problems, fatigue and low energy, stiff joints and arthritis, all inflammatory conditions , digestive distress( heartburn, acid reflux, gas, bloating, indigestion),poor elimination, breathing difficulties, premature tissue aging, memory loss, skin eruptions( pimples, boils,  breakouts). and cause a loss of the buffering minerals of calcium and magnesium.

 

ACID FORMING FOODS:  20% of the diet

 Beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry, duck, seafood

White flour and white sugar products

Processed grains, cereals and legumes

Dairy products

Vegetable oils

Nuts, nut butters and seeds

Also:

Cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, refined salt, artificial sweeteners, tap water

Excessive stress and little exercise

 

ALKALINE FORMING FOODS: 80% of the diet

All fresh vegetables and vegetable juices

All fresh fruits and fresh fruit juices

Goat milk and goat cheeses

Whey protein powders

Sprouted grain breads and flours

Nuts (almonds) and seeds (sesame, sunflower)

Spices/seasonings (sea salt, ginger, cumin, onion, garlic, cilantro, parsley, chili peppers)

Natural sweeteners (stevia, agave, maple syrup)

Green tea, bee pollen, mineral water

Meditation, prayer, relaxation, moderate exercise, deep sleep
