LE CASALTE
Albino di Montepulciano
The vineyards consist of 10 hectares.
The owners are Chiara and Guido Bariofi. The enologist is Giulio
Gambelli. The slopes of Montepulciano are open and gently rolling,
as opposed to the Chianti or Montelcino region, where the slopes
are steeper and tight. This allows for more sun. The soil is sandier
and more alluvial as well. However, the elevations are are similar.
Vino Nobile the most prestigious wine of the region tends toward
a softer more elegant version of Sangiovese, which make the wines
of this region intriguing.
