MARCO PETTERINO
Gattinara-Piemonte

North of the Po river in Piemonte lies Gattinara. Comprised of only 225-acres in total for the appellation. Sheltered by the Alps, near the Swiss border. The vineyards are located on steep slopes that are rich in minerals and rise to elevations up to 1300 feet. These distinct minerals produce an acidic soil due to the absence of limestone. This characteristic, produces Nebbiolo with unique varietal character, extraordinary balance, and long aging potential. The terraced hillsides provide excellent sun exposure and the soils are rich in iron and trace quantities of carbonate, calcium, and magnesium. These unique soils, along with a perfect macroclimate, allow Nebbiolo to thrive in the Gattinara region.

Marco Petterino produces a Gattinara with the utmost care and selection of grapes. The vineyard is located in the unique mesoclimate of Permolone, giving the wine its rich and fully body. Producing only 2000 bottles each year, meticulous care is given to every step of the winemaking process.
