Toynami releases Super Deformed Alphas
January 2002 - Super Deformed Alphas were released of Scott's Blue Alpha, Rook's Red Alpha, and the standard Green. Toynami has also created a rare Super Deformed Shadow Alpha. These will be the hardest to find due to the fact that there will only be one per shipment box.

Robotech GameBoy Advance Video Game is announced as The Macross Saga
January 22, 2002 - TDK Mediactive has announced that the GameBoy Advance game for Robotech will be named The Macross Saga including characters such as Rick, Max, Miriya, and Roy with transformable veritechs. This game will be a side scrolling shooter.

Robotech DVD Box Set 5 Variant
January 23, 2002 - Walmarts will be carrying a limited edition Robotech DVD Box Set 5 variant that uses a different cover for the box than standard. Only 2,000 will be made. Keep on the look out!

February 5, 2002 - A.D. Vision Films have released Robotech: Volume 11, 12, and the Robotech Legacy Box Set 6. Robotech DVD Volume 11: The Next Wave (episodes 61-67). Robotech DVD Volume 12: Counter Strike (episodes 68-73). Robotech DVD Box Set: Legacy Collection 6 (DVD Volume 11, 12, and Extra 6). This begins New Generation; the third saga of the Robotech series.

March 16, 2002 - The company decided to delay the first volume of the Masterpiece Collection to May 2002 for refinements and final finishing touches to it.

March 19, 2002 - A.D. Vision Films have released Robotech: Volume 13, 14, and the Robotech Legacy Box Set 7. Robotech DVD Volume 13: Genesis (episodes 74-79). Robotech DVD Volume 14: Hollow Victory (episodes 80-85). Robotech DVD Box Set: Legacy Collection 7 (DVD Volume 13, 14, and Extra 7). This ends New Generation and the Robotech series.

Robotech DVD Box Correction
March 21, 2002 - A.D. Vision Films released Robotech Legacy Box Set 7 with a gold-colored slip instead of the green slipcase as Box 6 had. This error will be corrected by ADV by repressing the case as green as well as fixing a text error under special features that listed video clips from fan convention RoboCon 10 to be included but wasn't. A.D. Vision was unable to get this footage due to clearance issues.

Toynami developing new odd Robotech I-Men
March 27, 2002 - A new toyline by Toynami called I-Men. These 2 inch mini-figures look like LEGO people but aren't. Robotech is the first to get a set of toys in this line and will be sold in pairs. 5 Battloids and 5 Macross Saga Characters with magnetic feet, which comes with a pair of collector's coins. Robotech.com Plays April Fool's Joke on Fandom
April 1, 2002 - On this day, Robotech.com has played a nasty joke on the Robotech fandom by a fictional announcement of a DVD box release of Robotech 3000 (a canceled Computer Graphic series). Robotech 3000 was barely made when it was canceled and only had 3 minutes of footage existing. Robotech.com also played a joke on selling one of the rare prototype Robotech: Crystal Dreams cartridges. It was a pretty interesting day to say the least.

Toynami develops the Second series of Super Poseables 
April 5, 2002 - Toynami is creating a second line of the Super Poseable Battloids, same 4 without the VF-1J. However, these will be the Super Veritechs (Armored Veritechs) instead with the jet boosters on the back. There is also a mystery Battloid that they will not show what it is. There is no release date at the moment.

The Robotech Web is Dying/Dead
April 9, 2002 - It has been over a year since Robotech.com has opened, Harmony Gold's corporate and commercial Robotech web site. A site that generated a large community of casual fans has been the sole reason of death. Not death of people, but death of web sites.  Before the birth of their site, the Robotech fandom used to be surging and alive. Robotech web sites were all over the web, about 150 sites. Since the opening of Robotech.com, a good whole 3/4 of the Robotech Web has died completely. Mere proof can be seen at Voltron-5's web site:

"Before, my site was about Robotech, but since the Official Robotech Site opened, There was no need for me to post to much Robotech Stuff. Now I can do different things on my site other then all Robotech, but the theme will still be Robotech." - Voltron-5's City Central

Robotech Main Consoles Video Game is announced as Battlecry
April 11, 2002 - TDK Mediactive has announced that the main consoles game for Robotech will be named Battlecry including many environments from Robotech and  transformable veritechs. This game will be a 3D action-adventure game.

Robotech Masterpiece Collection #1 Completed and Gallery
May  6, 2002 - Toynami has announced that the First MPC Rick Hunter Veritech is complete and will be ship by June 19th. They are waiting until that date due to major distributors who wish Toynami to complete their production run before shipping out the toys. So, everyone will get their toys at the same time. May 22, 2002 - Silicon Magazine will feature Robotech: Battlecry articles on two pages. The cover issue shows off a completely new Zentraedi female character. There is also a full page illustration of Lisa Hayes inside.

Robotech at E3: Electronic Entertainment Expo and on TechTV
May 23, 2002 - Today at the E3 in LA, Robotech: Battlecry was up and running to be played. Many guest got to play 6 full levels of the game and multiplayer head-on-head combat. A cable channel called TechTV will be airing an episode that will have a interview about Robotech: Battlecry on from May 24-31th. Check out the web site for times.
