Still Under Construction... always! This page will keep changing as things come and go.
Let me start this out by saying that I do NOT run a business, though I'm not averse to a bit of cash changing hands now and then when it's a transaction both sides are happy with...
One man's junk is another man's treasure is what they say. I collect a lot of old electronics, and scrap a fair amount of it for parts. And sometimes even put some of it to good use, like the old 486 box that's currently acting as a firewall/router here. Who wants a 486 these days? Well, one guy I've just been swapping a bit of email with that's going to be running TurboCNC on it to control some machinery, for example. I've sent him an older, smaller hard drive that most people wouldn't even bother with these days. (And I have some 486 boards and such if anybody's interested.)
To quote Bruce Lane as found here:
"As far as I'm concerned, an item does not truly reach obsolescence until it is no longer useful to anyone, anywhere, any time, for any purpose."
Works for me! :-)
I'm interested in a great variety of electronics, the older the better. Doesn't matter if it works or not. If not, perhaps I can scrap it for parts and get some useful bits out of it, as opposed to the whole thing ending up in a landfill someplace. Please note that I'm not _buying_ this stuff (I can't afford to!), but I'll be happy to take it off your hands if I can do so conveniently. At this point I can't even afford to cover shipping... Feel free to email me if you have some of that sort of thing and we'll kick it around some. If I can fix it up and find someone that may find it useful, great, if it's scrapped out, then the same for the parts, and at worst things will get properly recycled.
One thing I could use is old c64s and c128s. I don't need the "brick" power supplies, unless they're the older ones that are vented (and repairable), cases, or keyboards, though I won't turn them down either (except for the old "brick" power supplies :-). I have some folks looking for some of the parts, and I have plenty of some of the other parts on hand here.
Old radios are another interest, again the older the better, working or not.
Apparently some folks are finding some of my manuals to be useful as well. If you were "in the business" or know of someone who was, and isn't any longer (who gets much stuff fixed these days?) then maybe we should talk.
Don't let this stuff end up in a landfill when it might still be useful to somebody!
How it works: You see something you want, email me. Make me an offer. If it's okay I'll accept it and we go from there. If it's too low I'll ask if you can go higher and we go from there. Nothing especially complicated about it...
I figure it's worth something for my time to find a box, pack things up, haul it down to the post office, etc. not to mention the room it takes up, salvage and inventory and whatnot, so if I come out with a few bucks at the end of the deal I'll be happy.
Again, I have a heck of a lot of stuff that's not listed here. And I don't mind throwing a few resistors or caps or whatever in a package with other stuff -- if you need some just ask.
Quantities of what I actually have may vary if I sell or use some of this stuff before this page gets updated, though I'll try to keep it up-to-date.
My preferred method to transfer funds is Paypal. I am also open to other methods if this is something you would prefer not to do or cannot do where you are for some reason, just email me.
My preferred shipment method is through the post office. Other ways like UPS, Fedex, etc. seem to require more in the way of paperwork and are much more of a hassle for me to get to since I'd have to drive a ways to get to any of the other alternatives and I can walk the few blocks to the post office. For those who have an account with one of the other carriers and want to arrange for something to be picked up, that's fine with me.
