                                           About the Department

Randolph Twp. Fire Protection Dist. was organized in 1956.  The district has one main station where all firefighting equipment is located and an office building that is shared with the Township government.

All 911 Emergency calls are received in the McLean County Emergency Telecommunications Center (METCOM) in Bloomington.  The department members are then notified by pager.

The RTFD members are all volunteer and have created their own organization to support the community.

The Fire Dept. Members conduct fundraisers such as the annual Pancake and Sausage Day to help fund community activities.  The list below includes some of the activities the department members support:
  Fire Prevention and Public Education
  Charter sponsors for :
Boy Scout Troop 31; RTFD Explorer Post 31
College Scholarships for high school seniors
  Halloween Parade
  Heyworth Summer League Team Sponsor
  Sting Football Sponsor

If you are interested or would like more information about becoming a member of the RTFD, please contact the department. We would be glad to answer any questions you have or give you an application.  Serving as a Fire Department member is a very rewarding community service.
