Aware of my delight in flowers, Liam took me to the Longwood Gardens south of Philadelphia along US-1. Created by industrialist Pierre S. duPont on 1,050 acres (425 hectares), it has 20 outdoor gardens, 20 indoor gardens, heated greenhouses, and spectacular fountains.

Because of the bad weather that day, though, the fountains were not running. We decided to leave the outdoor gardens for another day, and spent most of our time in the indoor gardens.
