| Dick Weldon was the first guest speaker of The Valley Speaks series. The Valley Speaks hosts guest speakers who share their experiences and history in the Santa Maria Valley on the second Saturday of each month. Talks are given at the Santa Maria Public Library at 11:00am. Past speakers have been: Dick Weldon, Harrell Fletcher, Larry Lavagnino, Meg Smith, Curtis Tunnell, Laura Tognazzini and Norma DeBernadi, Jim Glines, Shirley Boydstun, Angel Bourbon, Tetsuo Furukawa and Jack Morishima, and Janice and Glenn Battles.
