Tach pickup so factory tach will work
I used an old GM vacuum pump to use as the mounting spot for a tach pickup
It's cam driven at half the crank speed. Same as the Toyota distributor.
It's perfectly accurate.

I cut the inner dist shaft out of the old Toyota distibutor and tapped it into the hollow hole in the GM vacuum pump shaft.
Went to the bearing shop and got a seal that fit the hole where the top plug used to be.

I took the Toyota reluctor, ground off the counter weight mountings.  Couldn't find a seal with a small enough ID for the reluctor shaft, so I  pressed a bushing on the bottom for the seal to ride on

Mounted Toyota pickup coil plate on the top of the vacuum pump housing.
I don't think I wil need the vacuum pump, but mounted it back on anyway. Just need to come up with a dust cover.
