Lesson #1 1/22/07

It was great to get together with you and highlight areas for improvement. I appreciate your trust to show areas for your swing that can be strengthened. Please use the winter months to improve the following areas of your swing, always working on just one key at a time with your practice:

Posture - Wider, shoulder width stance - Much lower set up with center of gravity (stay in this posture after set up) - Irons slightly longer

Grip - More right hand built up in grip so thumb and index finger can pinch and be more neutral

Backswing - Stay in your knee flex with no raise up or stand up in legs as club starts back - Keep head, navel and legs from raising up and out of angles to finish swing - Now, feel a fuller twist and coil for a true wind up in torso

Downswing - Also, keep angles and stay lower with more torso rotation through to finish - As you stay lower, can begin to develop less "cast" and more wrist angle retention

Lesson #2 3/29/07

It was great to do more work on building your swing and fundamentals. Please keep up the emphasis on these practice keys to make 72 a reality this year.

Posture - Shoulder width stance - Hands more neutral and less ahead in set up

Grip - Slightly more diagonal across left index finger

Backswing - Ultra low with both hands in takeaway - Sense of "down" with left hand and "up" with right hand first half of swing - Stay low also with head/chest as no raising up with anything on backswing - Drill with Path Pro to feel no raise up during swing - Long term goal is to get 90 degree shoulder with back more fully turned to face target

Downswing - Also retain body angles over ball with not raising up - If you raise up or away, will need to cast hands at the ball - Sense of label on shaft getting past ball at impact before clubhead makes contact

Lesson #3 5/9/07

It was good to get back together and see your continued progress with your game. Please stay isolated with your focus on staying low with a full coil throughout the swing. Here are the keys from this lesson:

Posture - Keep right arm softer and underneath left arm for square alignment, not open - Ball position back slightly in stance

Backswing - Need to continue to "sit" and never raise up in legs, hips or head - Feel a lowering of right hip/cheek to maintain your height - Should feel the lowest in your navel area - Must also get a full twist or turn in your hips and chest to complete backswing

Downswing - Also stay low with head-n-hips with no raise up - Continue to stay low so that hands retain wrist angles longer - Finish with knees touching amd weight fully on front leg
