Lessons Available
Trumpet, Guitar, Bass

     Scott currently teaches Trumpet, Guitar, and Bass from his studio at Ridenhour Music in Salem, VA Monday-Thursday and Saturdays. Lessons are available in Christiansburg, VA on Sundays.

Holiday Music Concert 2009

     This year’s performance will be a return to the format that I used in 2005-2007, taking the show on the road to a local music venue. Students will be grouped into small ‘bands’ and perform holiday themed music in rock, blues and jazz guitar styles.

     To prepare, I have set aside a series of group rehearsal dates. Each of these rehearsals will last 1-hour and take the place of the week’s usual 30-minute lesson. A complete calendar is posted below, as well as at my studio in Salem.

  • Group Rehearsals:
      • November 10 @ 5:00-6:00 / 6:30-7:30
      • November 23 @ 5:00-6:00 / 6:30-7:30
    • Group Rehearsals will be 1 hour taking the place of the students' regular 30 minute lesson. 
    • Students are expected to arrive at least 5 minutes early with . . .
      • Instrument(s)
      • Music
      • Pencil
      • Amps (if applicable)
      • Any necessary accessories (cables, picks, reeds, valve oil, etc)
    • Students should arrive prepared to play.
  • Dress Rehearsal
      • Saturday December 12 / Time TBA
    • The Dress Rehearsal may take as long as 3 hours. We will run through the entire performance at least once. 
      • Students will not be required to attend the entire dress rehearsal, although it is recommended.
    • Students should arrive 5 minutes early prepared to perform.
  • Performance 
      • Saturday December 18 / Time & Location TBA
    • Students are expected to stay for the duration of the performance to listen to one another.
    • Due to logistical demands, exact performance times will not be made available in advance.
    • Students should arrive at least 30-60 minutes before the performance and expect to remain 30 minutes after for set-up and break-down.

     I will be holding year-end makeup lessons throughout November and December.
  • Monday November 9 - Individual Makeup Lessons (Salem)

  • Saturday November 14 - Group Makeup Lessons (Salem)
    • 12:30-1:30 Home Studio Recording
      • Make your own music at home. Learn about the technology and techniques used in home studio recording. 
    • 2:00-4:00  Listening
      • Discover new music in our group listening session.
  • Tuesday November 24 - Individual Makeup Lesson (Christiansburg)
    • Sign for 30 and 60 minute sessions by eMail or at my studio.
  • Monday December 21 - Individual Makeup Lesson (Salem)
