She says that's a foolish way to look at it--
after all,
it's not like years ago, when people walked around
with red faces from high blood
pressure
or tumors sticking out here
and
there.
Today they have all kinds of things, she says,
drugs, bypasses, this
and
that--
transplants.
They put things in your body--
plastic,
metal-- my God, organs.
Who knows where they came from--
monkeys, baboons, pigs:
all kinds of
traif.
Who are you when inside is from everybody-- people, animals,
plastics,
and
tin
like a junk shop?
Wait, soon will come a brain, a machine like a computer.
And a mouth, I say
(but not so loud that anybody can hear).
