To use this peak and average power adaptor, you need to modify the PowerMaster coupler... which will probably void the warranty. Specifically, there are three capacitors in parallel with the output of the forward rf peak detector: 100pF, 1000pF, and 0.1uF. These capacitors force the rf peak detector to have a long decay time (~ 0.1 seconds)... and therefore to respond (with certain approximations) to the peak of the rf envelope v. time. By removing the 1000pF and 0.1uF capacitors in parallel with the output of the forward rf peak detector, the output of the rf peak detector will have a decay time of less than a 100 microseconds. Thus the output of the peak detector will follow the modulated r.f. envelope. The adapter (shown above) will capture either the peak of the modulated r.f. envelope (with a decay time constant of around 1 second), or it will capture the average of the r.f. evelope (with an averaging time of 0.01 seconds).
