Training History...
In 1966, Hanshi Lane became inspired by Kyokushin-kai Karate and began his serious training as one of the first students of the famous Masutatsu Oyama... "School of Scientific Karate and Judo", at the renowned Brooklyn Academy Of Music, New York U.S.A. Over the years, Hanshi Lane trained along side many great Kyokushin Masters, such as William Oliver, Charles Martin, Claude Battle , Maureen Brazil, Thomas Wiggins, and Warren Bailey to mention a few. Lane's martial arts training was tempered and polished by the traditions of the world famous Masutatsu Oyama Kyokushinkai Karate... direct from Japan. Hanshi Lane became very intimate with Kyokushin Kai ("Ultimate Truth") along with a variety of other traditional martial arts styles and systems. He enhanced his abilities further with Goju Ryu Karate-do... For over twenty five years, Lane's Goju Ryu Karate-do experience, remains with Grandmaster Hanshi Yogi Israel; a direct senior student of world famous Gogen"The Cat"Yamaguchi. Hanshi Lane is well known and respected in the martial arts world because of his serious karate and philosophy. As a national and world champion-competitor, Lane was first inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall Of Fame in 1983. He is a "three time world kata and sparring champion" and "Instructor of the Year"and is one of the first loyal Kyokushinkai students, who trained under Tadashi Nakamura (First U.S.A. Kyokushinkai Karate Chairman, Founder of World Seido Karate). From 1992 through 2004, prior to founding Seishi Juku Karate-do, Hanshi Lane, along with his many students, stood out in the seido karate system. As a consistant first place senior Kumite fighter /master of kata and Tamashwari (breaking), during his position as seido branch chief, Hanshi Lane traveled to perform and compete in many countries abroad. He has establishd martial arts recognition and freindships in countries such as Italy, Brazil, Japan, Austrailia, and South Africa.

Instruction....
Hanshi Lane introduced his karate teachings to upstate New York in 1975. His popular instruction was eagerly embraced by the World Seido Karate Organization in 1992. At that time, Lane was appointed official branch chief; establishing Seido Karate throughout the Ithaca, New York areas. During a period of thirteen years , Hanshi Lane, also established karate and personal defense, as credit courses, at Cornell University and Ithaca College. As a partime college professor and lecturer, his teachings inspired and influenced academic success for all of his college students. !n May 2001, Hanshi Lane was specially recommended by Daniel Maas (Cornell University scholar) to received recognition from Cornell University, President H. R. Rawlings, and was presented with the prestigious Cornell University Merrill Presidential Scholar"Outstanding Educator" Award .

Why Seishi Juku???
During 2001- 2005 an obvious increasing trend of policy inconsistencies, and systematic patterns of forced resignations, frequently came down(from the Seido Organization Chairman) and touched many well reknown Seido branch chiefs, instructors and students. In August 2005, Hanshi Lane and his students were also strickened with political and philosophical inconsistencies and were forced to leave the seido organization. Because of Hanshi Lane's extensive martial arts background and experience, along with ongoing commitment by loyal students parents and friends, the"Seshi Juku Karate"training system was immediately implemented and replaced Seido. Hanshi Lane considered the needs of his many students and reopened the gate to a new professional training system of discipline, philosophy, and traditional karate technique; which further develops, mental application and constant focus, for both male and female students. This popular program, "Seishi Juku Karate", emphasizes "Strong Heart", "Strong Mind"and "Strong Discipline). Most important is the combined emphasis of mental, physical and spiritual development and high moral character. Hanshi Lane's teachings continue to produce highly accomplished students from all backgrounds of life. Affiliated Seishi Juku Karate and Personal Defense training programs, have won high recognition, as college courses. Our youth enrichment programs are very popular with parents and schools.

Kata (form) Kumite (sparring) and Tameshiwari(breaking); are traditional parts of our training and ability. Demonstrations and performances by Hanshi Lane and his Students are available, via contact and schedule.

Commitment...
Hanshi Lane's life long martial arts experience, commitment and never ending compassion for each student makes "Seishi Juku Karate"training easy to learn and time well spent. Our students of all ages, are 3 1/2year old children through retired senior adults.
