We are a group of avid readers, with a fondness for all things Celtic. We are particularly
interested in Scotland and Ireland, but the Celtic world is much broader than that, and so are our interests! If you
are interested in reading and discussing thought-provoking books, please join us. We have guided discussions of selected
books on our Book Discussion Board. We also have a Pub for socializing and fun. This website will be a gateway to the Boards and a place to put information
of interest to the group.

Welcome! I started Shamrocks & Stones to provide a place where some of my online friends and I could explore
books from a variety of authors, emphasizing books set in Scotland & Ireland, or otherwise having a Celtic connection.
The history and culture of the Celtic world are deep and complex; everyone in the group has something wonderful to contribute,
whether it is an understanding of Irish history, the most appropriate spelling of "shillelagh", or a tip on the touring schedule
of Great Big Sea!!
