Mrs. Dopp played this organ for thirty years (1952-1982) and became Organist Emeritus at the
time of her retirement. Prior to that she had played at the College St. Congregational and
Unitarian Churches in Burlington, and Charlotte Congregational, as well as substituting
elsewhere in the area. She began her organ studies with Miriam Natalie Marston while a student
at UVM. She became active in the Vermont Chapter American Guild of Organists and helped
coordinate several regional conventions in Burlington. She was a member of the AGO nationally,
as well as the Organ Historical Society. Mrs. Dopp highly valued this historic tracker organ
and always sought ways to convey an appreciation for fine organ music and to share this
instrument with the community. This Recital Series, established by her daughter in 2000, is
meant to perpetuate that legacy.
