First United Methodist Church of Burlington, 21 Buell St., announced their Lenten Thursday noon recital series: these free programs were held from 12:15 to 12:45.

Feb. 21   Recital of Russian organ music; works by Glinka, Cui, Homilius and Glasunov. George Matthew, Jr. organist.

Feb. 28   Music for English horn and organ; works by William Presser, Joyce Jones, Leo Sowerby, and Seth Bingham. Nadine Carpenter, English horn, George Matthew, Jr., organ.

March 6   Francois Clemmons, Alexander Twilight Artist-in-Residence at Middlebury College, will sing "The Life of Christ" by Roland Hayes.

March 13   Program of organ and liturgical dance.

On Sunday, February 17th, at 3:00 p.m., at The First Church of Deerfield, Old Deerfield, “The Brick Church” Music Series presented David Kazimir, organist, playing music by J.S. Bach, Böhm, Scheidemann, and Scheidt, on the Richards, Fowkes Opus 13 tracker organ. Mr. Kazimir, a recitalist in the U.S., Europe, and Middle East, and Director of Music at Church of the Ascension in Ipswich, MA, is also on staff at the C.B. Fisk, organ building firm in Gloucester, MA.

The second concert in the Wills Memorial Pipe Organ Concert Series was presented on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at 3 PM at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 200 Pleasant St., Bennington, VT. Organist Randall B. Krum presented a largely French Baroque program showing the influence of the French Royal Court on organ music of the time. Mr. Krum included works by Couperin, D’Aquin, Clerambault, and others. www.stpetersbenningtonvt.org
