When your cat starts getting mobile, she may try to jump up on things. This is because jumping up only really uses the hind legs and those are working just fine. Jumping down onto one leg is trickier - it requires a lot of balance and strength in the leg. It takes some time for them to learn their limits. Until you know she's figured out how to do land and is strong enough to land properly, try to keep her from jumping up on things that are so high that she could hurt herself if she falls on landing.

Over time, your tripod may develop arthritis in the remaining front leg, since it does take a lot of weight and stress. Talk to your vet about how to prevent it or treat it if it occurs. Some vets recommend glucosamine and chondroitin supplements, but always consult with your vet before giving any supplements to your kitty.
