LIEUTENANT COLONEL WARD ”SKIP" E. TYLER III

Lt Col Ward E. Tyler III retired from the USAF on 30 April 1999.  At that time he was the Chief, Battle Management, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. In this capacity, he was responsible for the command logistics management of special mission aircraft including the E-3 AWACS, E-4, and E-8 Joint STARS. He entered the Air Force in August 1976 after graduating from the Arizona State University. A career logistics officer, he has commanded three maintenance squadrons and was a deputy commander in a logistics group, while serving two staff tours at the major command Air Staff levels. He deployed to Operation(s) Desert Shield and Desert Storm as commander of the 23rd Component Repair and Equipment Maintenance Squadron supporting the 23rd Tactical Fighter Wing (Provisional) at King Fahd International Airport, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
