Field: Somerset Weather: Rainy, Very Wet 59

The Somerset Eagles turned the tables on Penn Cambria and scored a 12-2 victory exactly one week after dropping a game at Penn Cambria. The game was ended after six innings due to the 10-run rule.

Somerset starting pitcher Adam Hemminger threw five innings to earn the win. He allowed only three hits, two walks, and two runs (one earned). Zac Pyle threw a scoreless sixth while recording three strikeouts.

Scott Wetzel drilled a triple passed a diving James Bruner in the top of the first to drive in Mike Casissi with the game’s first run.

Somerset responded in the bottom of the inning when Brett Ziegler singled up the middle, stole second, advance to third on an errant throw, and scored on a wild pitch.

Somerset broke the game open with five runs in the third off of starter Travis Albright. Somerset sent nine men to the plate and ripped four hits. Chad Pritts had a clutch two-out, two-run single to right. James Bruner doubled home a run, Adam Angermeier had an RBI single, and Hemminger had an RBI groundout in the frame.

Somerset added four more runs in the fourth. Ziegler reached on an error to start the frame. He stole second just before Kris Park was hit by a pitch. Hemminger then followed with a single to drive home Ziegler. Cleanup hitter Ryan Uphouse then drilled a two run double to left center to chase Albright from the game. Uphouse moved to third on a wild pitch thrown by relief pitcher Al Watt, and he scored on a groundout by Justin Kreger.

After Penn Cambria scored a run in the fifth, Somerset answered with a run of their own as Hemminger singled with one out, moved to second on an errant pick-off attempt, advanced to third on a fly out by Uphouse, and scored on a single by Kreger.

Somerset ended the game with a run in the sixth as Angermeier singled and scored on a single by Pyle.

Somerset (5-2) will travel to Bedford on Saturday, April 24th. The game will start at 1:00.
