Shaulis’ Complete Game Leads Somerset Over Central

MARTINSBURG:  Lefty Drew Shaulis turned in a complete game gem to lead the Eagles over Central 8-3 on Monday.  Shaulis allowed five hits, all singles, and only walked one batter while striking out twelve.  Shaulis improved his record to 3-0 on the season.

On offense, eight of the nine Somerset starters recorded at least one base hit in the game.  Adam Angermeier was the only Eagle with more than one hit.  He delivered a two-run double in the first inning to go along with a single in the seventh.

Jordan Kaufman, Andy Harvey, and Josh Barron delivered consecutive doubles in the four-run fifth inning.  Zach Deist delivered a two-run, two-out single in the fifth to put the game out of reach for the Eagles.

Somerset (9-1) will host Penn Cambria on Wednesday at 4:30.
