Greg Treadwell

Bassist
Talent: Bassist
Began Music At Age: 17
Why I Began: My neighbor had a band and I enjoyed listening to the low sound of bass.
Musical Background: I'm self-taught and I play by ear. I'm also left-handed. Since my first bass was for right-handed people, I had to reverse the strings and play it upside-down. Fortunately, those years are behind me. I now play a left-handed bass.
Performed With: King Twigg; Just Right Band
Favorite Musicians: James Jamerson, Larry Graham, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Verdine White, Bootsy Collins
Favorite Pastimes: spending time with my family; watching sports; music, music, music!

Joined Special Blendz: January 2005
How I joined Special Blendz: I first saw the group perform at the Turk's Head Music Festival in West Chester in 2001. I was impressed by the uniforms, steps, and sound. A few years later, my brother who worked with Chris (Special Blendz keyboard player), told me the group was looking for a new bass player. I was excited when I found out the group was Special Blendz - the outstanding group I saw at the Turk's Head Music Festival years ago. I spoke to Carole (Special Blendz manager) and she invited me for an audition. To this day, I still look forward to going to rehearsals and jamming at the shows.
