About Me

Began Music At Age: 11

Why I Began: I wanted to play in a drum and bugle corp.

Musical Background: I began playing drums with The Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corp in Baltimore, Maryland. Later, I learned to play a drumset. Through the years, I played drums for several bands and eventually did a world tour with Edwin Starr and the Gap Band. I've also played on tracks for commercial jingles.

Musical Eureka Moment: While in L.A., Harvey Mason gave me a drum lesson.

Greatest Musical Accomplishment: Sitting in with H.B. Barnum and Aretha Franklin on a gig.

Special Blendz and Me

Joined Special Blendz: 1996; left the group in 2002 and returned in 2004

How I joined Special Blendz: I used to perform with Moe and Raymond in a group called The Chandlers. They called me up one day and told me they needed me to play drums with the new group they had formed called Special Blend (later renamed Special Blendz for trademark purposes).
