100 Clarinet Moments (Ed Chang)

Note : Play each moment at will in any sequence.  These were originally written for my own research, so some of the instructions may seem a bit inscrutable, so interpret them as you wish.  Thanks you.

2. high squeal with teeth vibrato, tongue slap to middle register drone, gliss down

3. low staccatto tonguing, chirps, low staccatto tonguing

4. middle reg wavers (changing speed and width)

5. hand chatter (near mouthpiece, high and low reg)

6. shh, teeth pops ascending 2x, shh

7. teeth multiphonics, low melodic, insert gliss up and down

8. knee fingerlifts (same note repeated), low flutter, knee fingerlifts (different note repeated)

9. lip chatter low notes w. multiphonics, hummed low notes fast

10. low wobbling w. left hand fingerlifts

11. hummed teeth wavers down ending in low hacking

12. half hole multiphonics (right hand) w/wo teeth

60. backward pops (held) in large interval leaps, flutter gliss to small interval leaps, flutter gliss, repeat

61. fast legato all registers with teeth squeal background drone

62. smooth middle reg fast legato

64. phut pop double hit - gliss squeal up - microtonal double hit - multiphonic - repeat cycle = 4/4

65. staccatto tongued multiph. triple-hit - bear note bended - staccatto tongued squeal note triple-hit - teethed low note - repeat = 4/4

66. low note - middle note - high note - hacked note - repeat all single/double hits = 4/4

67. toneless playing (pops, inverse breathing, shh, hacking)

70. "sad" high waver melody (trailing)

72. neo-trills, inserting multiphonics
