- Spin-17 Sergio (2000)
3.1M - Similar to
and composed simultaneously with "Parisian Idyll", this one is the
Sergio Leone/Ennio Morricone spaghetti shootout complete with harmonica
and feedback...
- Spin-17 Cirkus
(2000) 1.7M - Surreal carnival atmosphere
with "over-the-top" sound design. The "musical" portion was
composed by Motoko Shimizu.
- Ed Chang HitchMix
(2001) Drum & Bass remix of "Psycho (Main Title)" (Bernard
Herrmann) 2M - This was done with a Playstation and MTV Music
Generator with ProTools. This is a relatively "straight" remix
compared to the Otomo thing, but is somewhat influenced by Squarepusher
and Alec Empire.
- Spin-17 Sax
& Turntable duo improvisation (1999) 2.3M - These
are 4 takes in a row of a sequence for "The Chronicles of Momo" puppet
production in the scene where Spin-17 is about to get arrested but play
music instead. The police officer did not receive it very well.
- Motoko Shimizu/Blaise Siwula
Voice/Sax duo improvisation at COMA (2000) 4.1M -
This was recorded by Blaise during one of COMA's duos/trios/ensemble
sections. This was a "first meeting" improv.
- Doug Theriault Solo Guitar
& Electronics 3.8M - This piece
dates a couple years but is an example of Doug's "nastier" side when he
was doing more circuit-bending and guitar deconstruction. Totally
intense.
- Ed Chang Memory
(1999) Electro-acoustic composition for Otomo
Yoshihide's Remix project (rejected!) 3.9M - This is one of 4 remixes
of Otomo Yoshihide's Ground Zero record "Consume Red". This was
done in part using a hand held mike recording room sounds while a
manipulated version of the original piece was playing on the
stereo. In theory this is a remix...but maybe I cheated a little
too much...?
- "Dracula Lugosi" - Mina 1.2 M
(featuring Motoko Shimizu, Matthew
Heyner, Rich Gross, Michael Evans, Samara Lubelski) (2000) - This is
part of a live recording of the "Dracula Lugosi Suite" performed at
Roulette in October, 2000. This particular section was written
primarily by Motoko Shimizu. This piece implies Mina Harker's
heroic/tragic seduction by Count Dracula.
- Minus Live in
Oregon 1998 3.9M (Ed Chang, Dave
Trenkel(bass), Mark France(guitar), Henry Franzoni(drums)) -
Avant-groove rock with improv skronk sax.
(Check out the "Released" downloads from our CD Samples
page which includes 2 tracks each of Ed Chang, Spin-17 and DUAL
.)
