Dance caller and mentor

Dancing:
Sam has been dancing all of his life, including Folk dancing, contra, English, Vintage, Scottish, Polish, and couple dancing.
Calling and leading:
Sam is a regularly scheduled caller for both the Germantown Country Dancers and the Thursday Night Contra Dance. Sam also leads dances in the surrounding area: Lambertville (NJ), Princeton (NJ), Harrisburg (PA), Bethleham (PA), Baltimore (MD), Washington (DC), New York and Delaware. Festivals and dance weeks include Heritage Dance Festival, Early Music Week at Pinewoods Camp, NEFFA, Lichfield Festival (England) and NOMAD.
Mentoring:
Sam loves mentoring new callers, helping them to see their strengths, evaluate their own calling and become better leaders.
Music:
Sam began playing the English concertina late in life. He considers himself between a low intermediate and intermediate player. He is able to accompany most English dance music at tempo, but cannot usually play contra dance music to speed.
Performing:
Sam performs English Country Dancing and Early American with the Germantown Country Dancers, and Polish dancing with Janosik. He is a co-leader of GCD's Early American performance team, the Colonial Assembly and in the past has been a leader of the English Dance performance team.
