Our Parish Mission Statement: St. Boniface Parish, a
Catholic Christian Community, is called to witness Christ's message of peace in His gospel presence and the Eucharist. We
endeavor to accept all who seek this revelation of God's love. We extend ourselves in response to all those who hunger and
thirst for justice and peace.
ADMINISTRATION & DEVELOPMENT
- The Pastoral Council collaborates
with the pastoral staff to maintain the integrity of the Parish mission. The Pastoral Council:
— creates and implements
the goals and objectives that increase awareness of the Parish mission
— participates in the pastoral activity of
the Parish
—advises the Pastor and the pastoral staff with an honest perspective of the pulse of the Parish.
- The Religious Education Board assists
religious educators in setting goals and objectives and in planning and evaluating programs.
- The Property Committee helps with
general maintenance of Parish property and helps to keep the grounds of the Parish beautiful.
- The Technology Committee advises the Parish
on the acquisitions and use of computers and communication technology, including manage-ment and upkeep of the Parish web
site.
WORSHIP
- Lectors proclaim the Word of God
during the liturgy (for Grade 7 and older).
- Altar Servers assist with
the liturgical celebration (for Grade 4 and older).
- The Choir enhances the liturgy with hymns of praise
under the direction of the organist.
- Greeters extend a warm welcome to
attendees of liturgical celebrations and distribute Parish bulletins after Masses.
- Ushers assist with offertory
collections at all weekend liturgical celebrations.
SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION & RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
- The Baptism Preparation Teams assist
parents to understand the Sacrament of Baptism and the responsibilities of baptizing their children.
- The couples of the Marriage Preparation Teams
assist engaged couples in preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage.
- Catechists share their faith
in Jesus Christ in age-appropriate ways with students of all ages. Training is provided for new volunteers. Substitute
Catechists fill in as needed. Hall Monitors help maintain order in class by watching
the halls on a bi-weekly basis.
- In Bible Study we gather together to understand
the Word of God and so to grow in the love of God.
OUTREACH
In response to the Gospel message through
Social Action, the Parish reaches out to those in need in our community and beyond. Social Action activities include:
- Food Pantry volunteers collect
donated food and personal care items and prepare for distribution to the needy.
- Our Father's House volunteers prepare and serve supper on the last Wednesday of each month to residents at OFH.
- In the Interfaith Hospitality ministry, volunteers act as hosts to families who experience temporary homelessness.
- With the Christmas Giving Tree, parishioners
provide clothing and toys to needy children in our community and beyond.
- By Visiting Shut-ins, parishioners bring
them much needed companionship. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion can bring Holy Communion to them.
FOSTERING COMMUNITY
- The Hospitality Committee organizes
fellowship and refreshments after Mass once a month.
- The Women’s Guild unites the
women of the parish in their efforts to build a sense of Christian community.
- The Social Activities Committee plans
fun-filled activities for the parish.
- The Italian Festival & Fair Committee
plans and organizes all facets of this annual Parish fair. To make the festival a success the committee needs your help in
the kitchen, setting up, serving, etc.
- The St. Boniface Youth Group offers age-appropriate social activities for parish members ages 11-15.
Each of us has a unique set of talents that has been
given to us by God for us to contribute to our own happiness and the common good. If we hoard these talents, we will not only
deny our own happiness, but the common good. Let us give generously of our gifts of time and talent.
