Established in 1891, St. Athanasius Parish has served the local faith community for 118 years. Over these years, the parish community has been a wonderful symbol of Christ's presence and has provided for the spiritual nourishment and comfort of thousands of people.

Originally the parish encompassed the communities of Curtis Bay, Brooklyn, Linthicum, Glen Burnie, Riviera Beach and all surrounding beaches. St. Rose of Lima (Brooklyn), and St. Jane Frances de Chantel (Riviera Beach) parishes were missions of St. Athanasius.

Today St. Athanasius serves over 630 families comprised of various heritages.

St. Athanasius is known for its warm, welcoming spirit and "family" environment. Under the pastorship of Father Rob DiMattei, our congregation is growing. Parish liturgies are beautiful and spiritually enriching.

St. Athanasius welcomes all new parishioners and looks forward to sharing its rich history and its spirit of joy and warmth with the entire parish family.
