BINGO! St. David's Court Birthday Celebration was a hit!

As a representative for the Outreach Commission and contact person for St. David's Court, I would like to heartily thank every person who  contributed to the success of our October Birthday Celebration and Bingo Party last Sunday. This event was held in the Community Room at St. David's Court on October 27 at 1 pm.

It seemed to me a little like the Biblical miracle of the loaves and the fishes.  Although we began with practically no volunteers, by Sunday we were inundated with gifts of homemade cookies, Bingo prizes, and people to come and help us make the event the big success that it was.  From our Sunday school, we were blessed with the presence of Courtney Finkbeiner, Adrianna Kocak, Mia Thurlow, and Ashley and Joel Kaigler.  These youth helped as food servers, bingo callers, "eyes" for residents with visual impairments, and just as the general sources of fun and enthusiasm that they always are. Adults who attended included Cherie Finkbeiner, Linda Williams, Paul Kocak, and myself.  Many more residents attended than had ever attended one of our events before, and all were enthusiastic and most appreciative. In fact, when I attended a residents' meeting two days later, I was again told how much fun everyone had had, and was told that one resident who "never talked or came to anything" had stopped another resident in the hall and said how much fun he had had, and asked when the next Bingo party would be!

Several church members who were not able to attend this October event have told me that they are glad we are again becoming involved at St. David's Court and have expressed interest in coming to future events. Please be assured that there will be other chances for you to do so soon, and once again, thanks for all your help and support!
