COTA Mission Statement

The Celebration of the Arts is a gift to the community from the parishioners of St. David's Church. The church provides the venue for the visual and performing artists of Central New York to present new works representing the logical joining of religion, art, and the God given creativity in life.

Policies

•  The Celebration of the Arts Steering Committee exists to establish and maintain continuity, policies, and quality. The Steering Committee will serve as a resource and support system to the Celebration Chairs, the Rector, and the Vestry.

•  Artist and performers will be invited from the Central New York community.

•  The Organist/Choir-Director and Rector will determine the Sunday program.

•  There is no charge for any part of the Celebration. Expenses are met through Patron donations, silver bowls, and a one-third commission on art sold.

•  A $4,000 fund shall be reserved in an investment account to defray any losses that might be incurred in any given year. Any monies realized over and above our expenses will go back to the local community. Monies may be used on items at St. David's that involve the use of the building by the Celebration.

•  There will be an Art Selection Committee to determine the artists to be invited each year.

•  The Steering Committee will appoint the COTA Treasurer. (Current: Yvonne Shaw)

•  The Steering Committee and the Rector will appoint the COTA Chairs for the following year.

•  There will be no presale of any art. Patrons can purchase art on the Tuesday, Opening Night once the event starts. Non-patrons can purchase art on Wednesday when the galleries are open to the public.
