Introduction
I offer a unique, full immersion method for you to learn English in New York. My method of teaching relies heavily upon conversation and makes use of cultural and contemporary issues, with an emphasis on what matters to the student. I focus particularly on what is important to the student, such as a specific professional, academic, or personal goal.
There are two ways in which I work with students. First, I teach students in my apartment or at a mutually convenient location. My minimum fee is $50.00 for a two hour session. Students choose how often they want to meet, and I am very flexible in scheduling.
The other way I work with students is by providing accommodations in my apartment and offering three hours of one-on-one English instruction five days a week. In addition, you will be living in an English speaking environment. My fee for accommodations and instruction is $150.00 per day.
My apartment is located in Astoria, Queens, about ten minutes (four subway stops) from Manhattan. It is in a quiet, residential neighborhood, only one block from shopping and restaurants.
I have two university degrees. One is in Philosophy and the other is in Education. I have nine years of public school teaching experience and eight years of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) at a private language school in New York. My ESL experience consists almost exclusively of teaching private lessons to students, and business and medical professionals from all over the world.
