The Hand of Daralon

The Hand of Daralon is the Name of the group of adepts from my Earthdawn campaign. Several of the things I've written for Earthdawn (particularly items from Arcane Mysteries of Barsaive) started as ideas from my campaign. If you want more info about Earthdawn, check out FASA's home page.

MEMBERS OF THE HAND

Ak'le'ar (played by Rich Tomasso). Ak'le'ar is a human elementalist from Kaer Daralon. Like most magicians, he is intellectual and introspective. He's fairly soft-spoken and often tries to be the voice of reason within the group (given so many other members with fairly short tempers). Ak'le'ar and Jarren are particularly good friends since Ak'le'ar began to teach Jarren how to read and write. The two of them have a friendly betting rivalry.

Jardaal Tarn (played by Sean Johnson). Jardaal is an ork swordmaster from a long line of swordmasters. He wields his family's sword, Named Truefang. Jardaal (like many orks) has not had an easy life: he was captured and tortured by the Hand's old enemy Sethek and lost his right hand to one of Sethek's schemes. Jardaal has since replaced his hand with a magical silver replacement and keeps his severed original hand as one of his pattern items.

Jarren Swiftwind (played by Andy Frades). Jarren is a troll archer, and the only member of the Hand not originally from Kaer Daralon. Jarren hails from a troll village in the Delaris Mountains not far from the kaer's location. Jarren is fun-loving and considerably more philosophical in bent than most trolls (making him a good match for Ak'le'ar). He lost an eye in a battle with the horror Thanor and replaced it with a crystaline targeting eye.

Kaeron Blackfang (played by Bill Michie). Kaeron is a troll warrior descended from a group of trolls exiled from the Twilight Peaks who settled in the Delaris Mountains and took shelter in Kaer Daralon during the Scourge. Since leaving the kaer, Kaeron has started to explore his heritage. He has died several times in battle, each time saved by magic like a death cheat charm or a last chance salve. His fascination with death led Kaeron to become a nethermancer as well as a warrior.

Thain Redstone (played by Lyle Hinckley). Thain is a dwarf scout and probably the most kind-hearted and noble of the Hand. He is a wanderer and explorer at heart and embraced the call of the open road. He is also somewhat troubled, since the adepts discovered that the magical weapons Thain discovered in the ancient lair of a dead dragon may in fact be Horror-tainted.
