Troop 1 founded in 1924. Meetings of Troop #1 were held in the American Legion Post 160, Solvang. The first Scoutmaster
was James Wescott, the local high school principal. The first troop consisted of 6 scouts.
Troop 41 founded in the early 1940's; Troop 40 became part of Troop
41 in 1987.
