New Leader Essentials - This training applies to all scout leaders. It lasts about 1.5 hours and provides essential knowledge concerning planning, interaction with boys and young men, safety, finances, etc.
 
 

Cub Scout Leader Specific Training - This training is focused towards cub scout leaders and lasts 2.5 to 3 hours. Learn how to make the pack go! The break-out sessions may include:

  • Cubmasters
  • Members of the Committee

  • Tiger Den Leaders
  • Wolf/Bear Den Leaders

  • Webelos Den Leaders

 

Boy Scout Leader Specific Training - This training is focused towards Boy Scout leaders and lasts 3.5 to 5 hours. Learn how to get a motivated, boy-run troop! The break-out sessions include:

  • Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters

  • Members of the Committee

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) Training - This training is for Cub Scout leaders, and will teach you how to properly plan and conduct outdoor den and pack activities, including  pack family camping. The training takes about 7 hours on a Saturday.

Outdoor Webelos Leader (OWL) Training - Webelos den leaders learn about the activity badges related to the outdoors, and learn how to plan and conduct Webelos den campouts. The training takes about 8 hours on a Saturday, with the Friday night campout optional.

Introduction to Outdoor Skills (IOS) - Boy Scout leaders learn camping and outdoor skills, with a focus on the patrol method and the boy-run troop. The training takes the better part of two days, with one night camping.

Youth Protection Training - Required every three years for all scout leaders. Teaches methods to prevent abuse during Scouting events, and methods for detecting abuse of Scouts. One hour and 15 minutes in duration.

Merit Badge Counselor Training - 15 minutes in duration. A review of the guidelines for being a counselor, including teaching, passing off requirements, record keeping. Youth Protection Training is required first.

Wood Badge - For all scout leaders. Teaches leadership skills in a Scouting environment. Two 3-day weekends of coursework, which includes personal goal setting. The course is completed when the personal goals have been achieved.
