PARISH NOTES
FOOD PANTRY
Our donations for October were: | Food Value: | $ 78.27
| Cash: | $422.00 | | |
With winter coming and the cost of fuel oil, gasoline and food increasing weekly, there may be times when the Neighborhood Center will NOT have enough food or funds to fill all the requests they receive.
The center is anticipating about 400 Christmas boxes, which will be given out on December 19th. Each family will receive a box of groceries, a turkey or ham (their choice), a bag of potatoes, rolls, a dozen eggs and dessert.
This Holiday Season
Give thanks for all you hand and Share your good will with others

WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE
The Ways and Means Committee held their Fall Bazaar on November 3rd. Once again, we want to thank all of you. Everyone of you do an amazing job. We had delicious baked goods, amazing crafts and a truly wonderful white elephant table. We raised a total of $1740.87. We can't be successful without your help. We also want to thank the other members of our church who pitched in to help—Sue, Luanne, Ann, Helene and Audrey. Thank you all for all you do for us. See you at the Cookie Sale.

BEING BETTER STEWARDS OF THE EARTH
Save yourself some money and help protect our earth at the same time by following these tips:
Cornstarch is a great way to clean grease spots on clothing, countertops, stoves, etc. Just sprinkle on the item , let it sit and wipe or brush off.
Olive oil & lemon juice makes a good furniture polish. 1/2 cup of the oil with 1/4 cup of lemon juice mixed and sprayed on wood furniture, then wiped off and polished with a soft cloth will protect and shine.
Lemon juice combats mineral deposits and rust around drains and faucets.
White vinegar added to your hot water will clean the kitchen floor in a jiffy. Also by adding some vinegar to your wash it will soften and deoderize the clothes.
JUST A REMINDER
Altar Guild Cleanup Day is December 12 @ 10 a.m. Many hands make light work.
Angel Tree 2007
Now maybe the time once again to think of what you have and of those who have much less. Angel three 2007 is at St. John’s to help the Children in our area to receive gifts from us, with the Love of God due to the incarcerated parent. Knit or crochet hats or mittens make great gifts. Thanks for your help in this ministry that brings God to the hopeless.
Thank You,
Cathy Littlejohn
