The 2009-10 CYO basketball program will begin the first weekend in December. This program provides girls and boys from the 4th through 8th grade a great opportunity to play competitive basketball in a learning and positive environment. This year we are also recruiting for a Senior CYO League team for 9th-10th grade boys. The season will run until early March 2008 with tournament games at the end of the season. The season will be 18 games, all played on weekends. Expect a game most weekends, occasionally two. Practices are generally one night a week during the season and are held at St. Joe's gym.

The Schenectady CYO league includes dozens of teams from the area. You can learn more about the league at: www.SchenectadyCYO.net. We encourage as many parents to get involved as possible. Older siblings are also welcome to assist for community service credits. Coaches, practice assistants, timekeepers and scorekeepers are all volunteers from the parish community. Even if you know very little about basketball, you can help. (Professional referees are hired for each game.) The program is designed to give kids a comfortable environment to learn about teamwork and build self-confidence - but mostly it's a whole lot of fun!
