YOUNG PEOPLE! Get Involved!! Here's How: All young people from 12 to 18 years of age are invited and strongly encouraged to become catechists (teachers), lectors, musicians, singers, greeters, ushers and/or, if you are confirmed, Eucharistic Ministers. We know of your many gifts and ask you to please consider sharing them with the congregation of St. Joseph's Parish. You can help make our liturgies a much richer experience for all of us.

MAKE IT HAPPEN! The First Youth Ministries Meeting, for young people ages 12 to 18, will take place on Sunday, August 30 for 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Plan to attend, bring your friends, your ideas and desires for activities/events you'd like to have happen at St. Joe's. Be the ones to make a difference.

Formation Dinner and Presentation: On Wednesday, September 16 St. Joseph's Parish, Our Lady of Grace and the Church of the Immaculate Conception, together, will host an evening of formation for anyone interested. The dinner will be held at St. Joseph's parish center. We will have a 5:30 p.m. gathering; 6:00 dinner and 7:00 presentation. Our theme is: Catechesis - Proclamation of the Word. Sr. Pat Conron will be the presenter. Reservations will be accepted through Friday, September 11, 2009; Food provided by the Turf Tavern. Melanie Puorto has been booked for a SafeTALK seminar at Our Lady of Fatima on Wednesday, September 23 from 6-9 p.m. SafeTALK is a training that prepares anyone over the age of 15 to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connects them to suicide first aid resources. Ms Puorto is the Director to the Suicide Ministers in the Schenectady Deanery. Make your reservation today to attend this very important and pertinent seminar. Suicides are on the rise and this seminar will help us identify the symptoms and help us to know how to get them help. The seminar is limited to 40 people.

Concert and Rally: Steve Agrisano is a national performer and musician…AND…he is coming to Saratoga Springs on September 26 to give a concert that promises to knock your socks off no matter your age! Tickets will go fast so get yours TODAY! Simply call or e-mail Ruth in the Youth Ministries Office, it's as easy as that. Right now, tickets are only $10 each. A diocesan Youth Rally will take place earlier in the day prior to the concert. More details about the rally will follow in subsequent bulletins. Stay tuned!

Ministries Fair Coming Soon! On October 3 & 4, St. Joseph's will host a Ministries Fair. MARK YOUR CALENDARS TODAY to be sure you don't miss this festive, informative event. This will be an opportunity for you to explore all of the current ministries that the parish offers and many other opportunities. We will have something for everyone, from face painting and games for the kids to great opportunities and fun for all ages.
