Just before the liturgy is to start, the lector will go and read a welcome. It includes the Sunday of the year, a brief comment on the upcoming readings, and who, or what, the mass is being offered for.

The lector then returns to Holy Family Hall to process in with the celebrant.

The Lectionaryis kept on the pulpit before mass.

After the second reading, place the Lectionary on the shelf of the pulpit so the deacon has a place to set the Book of Gospels.
