| Eucharistic Minister Instructions |
|
As the people share the Sign of peace, after the Our Father and before the Lamb of God, The Eucharistic Ministers are to come up into the sanctuary and stand behind the priest. The deacon, or if no deacon is at the mass, the minister listed as Cup 3, goes to the tabernacle and brings the Blessed Sacrament to the altar. The ministered listed as Cup 1 brings the Precious Blood to the small table behind the pulpit, and pours some into each cup. ALL Ministers will be given communion at the end of the Lamb of God, but do not consume the host until the priest takes communion. The priest or deacon will then give the Blood of Christ to some of the ministers who will in turn give communion to the others, so that the Communion rite is expatiated. After the congregation has received communion, bring the cups to the small table, but bring the remaining hosts back to the altar where they will be placed in the large ciborium and either the deacon or the minister listed as cup 3 will bring the sacrament to the tabernacle. Everyone helps to clean up and prepare for the next mass.
