OUR LEGACY
The legacy of St. Peter's Parish is always on the mind of its parishioners.
Since 1872, it has served many immigrant populations...Irish, Puerto Ricans, Latin Americans, Caribbeans, Vietnamese, and
Cape Verdeans. It is a place of hope and blessing. Among its parishioners there is a strong sense of community and faith.
As one parishioner expressed, "It was about 31 years ago, when I stopped at a red light outside the church; I looked at the
impressive stones that hold it together. I also noticed that it was the Church of St. Peter. I thought of the symbolism
with the stones and that of Peter - Jesus designated Peter as the head of the Church and said to His Apostle, 'Peter, you
are the rock on which I will build my church.
St. Peter's certainly has been my spiritual home. I raised my four children in the parish and have been a part of the various
groups and committees that meet here. In fact, I attribute my public speaking confidence to the many gatherings we had concerning
important aspects of the parish and community. I feel that I have been and continue to be an important part of the parish
family."
OUR FUTURE
Father Jack Ahern has arrived at St. Peter's Church! St. Peter's Parish is sharing a pastor and parochial vicar with the Parishes
of Holy Family and Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta. We are working as a Tri-Parish Team to create unity and mutual support!
