Recently I was contacted by Rex Hotchkiss who had found our website and was interested in our Association. For some years Rex, who lives in California, has been developing his Hotchkiss genealogy, tracing a different line that appears in Scotland in the 1700s. Many from that line came to the U.S. in the 1800s.

Rex recently wrote me, "Although Samuel's line is the earliest and largest in America, Hotchkiss was a large family long before Samuel and there are many other Hotchkisses who are not descended from him, but may have an earlier common ancestor with him, most likely from Shropshire."

It is Rex's hope that we in the Hotchkiss Family Association share his interest in researching these earlier generations. Rex maintains a very classy web site and he has invited me to include the following NEW link. I believe you will find a visit interesting.
