Letter to Martin Lund from Arne Lund
I have tried to trace all your sncestores through the different lines as far back as possible.. Some of the lines from your
Grandmother, Ingar Marie Gjested, leads to some of the oldest nobel families of Middle and Eastern Norway in the midieval
ages.. As for instance, Dyre Sevaldson (Kane) Judge and Govenor (his coat of arms 4 roses in a shield) of the county shire of
Oppland in the middle and eastern Norway from 1515-1549.. Another is Bjorn Halvardson Skaktavl, about 1450, also a Judge
and Govenor
Thomas Langrason, Dean in Oslo, I have a photo of his picture, a painting about 1620 which still hangs on the wall in the
Cathedral of Savior in Oslo.. Thomas Ladgrson died 1630 in a pestilunce which cost the lives of so many at the time..
The Lund families latest coat of arm which I found was last used by Harold O. Iverson, 12/10/1521 in Ullensaker.. He gave the
owner of the estate Aas in Ullensaker.. He gave the estate to the Catholic Church.. Norway was Catholic "By order of the King"..
Norway took the Protestant faith in 1536.. The gift was a Requim for him and his parents to Eternal time..
As you will see from the drawing I have made from the original seal which hangs below the letters of 1521 in the archives..
Our Coat of Arms was a 3 cornered shield with an old Norwegian Battleaxe in the upper right corner.. the old Norwegian
noble families started to use Coats of Arms about 1300..
Martin
Served as an officer in the Cavalry .. Moved to Oslo as a police officer, and later a Custom House officer
