The Cheek line of my family tree is traced back to my Great Great Grandfather, John Cheek who was born in 1844. Polly Maria Cheek is listed below, but I'm not totally positive exactly how she is related to John Cheek.
I. Polly Maria Cheek B: abt. 1817 Married: James Fry on April 10, 1846 in Greene Co., TN. The 1850 Census of Polk County shows Polly married to James with the following Cheek children as well as several Fry children in the household. I don't know if Polly is the mother of John, James Francis and Elanor, or if she is related in a different way. I haven't found any information on the father of John Cheek. Also, the 1850 Census shows the spelling of the last name as 'Cheak', whereas the same family is listed as Cheek in 1860 and beyond. Children: 1. Elanor (b. 1836, IL) 2. Francis (b. abt. 1838, TN) 3. James (b. abt. 1840, TN) 4. John Cheek (b. 1844)
