(Ron was a SkyShark in the mid '80's and I consider him a very good friend.  Please check out his site by clicking on his picture and take a look at his interests, family, and friends.  He has shared some pretty humourous experiences.)

Hello. My name is Ron Monsen and I am an American living in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. This website is a little portal of my life and interests.  I am an active private pilot and general aviation enthusiast and I am frustrated with the absence of general aviation (GA) here in Saudi Arabia.  Luckily, I have another hobby which partially alleviates my GA separation anxiety: Radio Controlled (RC) aircraft.

All kinds of electric fun!

This little electric is so much fun to fly.  Performs very well at low speed, and it manageable at high speed.  I may have it a bit over-powered (brushless CD-ROM motor), but the power is there if you need it, and it weighs much less than a less efficient brushed motor.
The material of construction is that blue fan-fold house insulation (Dow Blue Core(r))!!!  I purchased the construction plans from www.foamtasticmodels.com for $10.00 via the internet.
I've not used the battery up totally, but I am sure that conservative flying would yield at least 30 minutes of easy flying.  Landing speed is so slow, that on the last flight I had at the field, Sunday, I flew it right up and caught it!
Here are some of the spec's:
Motor:  CD-ROM
ESC:       Phoenix 10
Rx:         GWS RP-6II
Servo:    (2) Eflight S75
Battery:  GWS 11.1v LiPo 3-S 1-P 1300 Mah
Weight    (with battery) 9.25 oz.
