A common misconception is that these were all the same. The reality is there are a few different ones. The Falcon, Fairlane, Comet, and Galaxie used one style while the Mustang and Cougar used another. The 65/6 Mustang convertible uses the same one as a closed car but it was trimmed to clear the reinforcing brace.

A little bit of trivia for those interested, 1963-1967 Ford air cleaners, heat stoves and snorkels were date coded originally. There is a month and year code on them. On the small block snorkel it is on the bottom end as shown in this picture.
